Written when Pascal was only sixteen, this short 1640 mathematical work develops ideas in the emerging field of projective geometry and builds upon the work of Girard Desargues. It includes the result now known as Pascal’s theorem; only the brief printed announcement of Pascal’s larger intended treatment survives.
